Second seed Rafael Nadal produced an impressive performance to defeat Tommy Haas in the second round of the Australian Open.
Haas, who was the oldest player left in the draw, proved no match for the power of Nadal as the Spaniard enjoyed a 6-4 6-3 6-4 victory.
Nadal started brightly and produced some impressive tennis in the first set against the 33-year-old German.
The 2009 champion produced his best form during the second set, hitting some trademark forehand winners past a desperate Haas.
Haas continued to battle but Nadal's quality shone through as he wrapped up the third set to ensure his title charge continued.
