Maria Sharapova has recorded a second win without dropping a single game at this year's Australian Open after trouncing Misaki Doi in their second-round match.
The second seed was relentless from the outset and wasted little time in putting her Japanese opponent under intense pressure.
Sharapova showed her ruthless streak to punish an overwhelmed Doi into submission and extend her current winning streak to 24 matches.
Doi tried in vain to register a solitary game but Sharapova shut the door each time with a series of brutal winners from the back of the court.
The Russian wrapped up a routine win in just 48 minutes to secure a third-round match against either Venus Williams or Alize Cornet.
