Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has booked his place in round four of the 2014 Australian Open courtesy of a third consecutive straight-sets win.
The 10th seed took 113 minutes to beat fellow Frenchman Gilles Simon 7-6 6-4 6-2 at Hisense Arena.
Both players won 38 points in a tight opening set, which Tsonga sneaked by winning the tie-break 7-5.
The 2008 finalist then clinched the next two sets in a slightly more comfortable fashion, taking 56 of 97 points.
Tsonga had dropped a single service game in each of his first two matches in the tournament. However, Simon was unable to get on top of the big man's serve, earning just three break points, all of which were saved.
Next up for Tsonga, who produced 40 winners and 29 unforced errors, is a clash with 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer.
