Milos Raonic's struggle for form has continued as he was knocked out of the Cincinnati Open in the first round by Feliciano Lopez.
The Canadian ninth seed, who was dumped out in the second round of the Rogers Cup last week, lost in a little over an hour-and-a-half to 33-year-old Lopez.
Lopez broke Raonic's serve at a critical stage of the second set after he had emerged victorious in a tie-break following an even first set.
With the victory, Lopez has set up a second-round clash with Andreas Seppi after the Italian beat Adrian Mannarino in straight sets in the first round.
