Spain's new Davis Cup captain Alex Corretja has revealed that he will hold discussions with Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer in the coming days.
Both players, who featured heavily as Spain defeated Argentina in the recent Davis Cup final, confirmed that they will not be participating in the competition next year due to hectic schedules.
However, Corretja is keen for the duo to reverse their decisions.
"My duty as captain is to talk to all players and all coaches," he said.
"Neither player has told me they will not play, this is what they said in the press.
"If there are players who feel they have to rest, I will respect this and try to make the best possible team for each tie."
Corretja's first game in charge will be the home tie against Kazakhstan in February.
