Switzerland have the edge in the Davis Cup final after Stanislas Wawrinka secured a victory over France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga this afternoon.
Wawrinka, who wasted four match points in his ATP World Tour semi-final defeat to Roger Federer last week, grabbed a 6-1 3-6 6-3 6-2 triumph in Lille.
The Swiss pro stormed to a one-set lead with two breaks of serve, but he was knocked back in the second set when Tsonga grabbed the only break point to draw level on his home turf.
The Frenchman failed to keep the momentum as Wawrinka found his feet once again to take a single break of serve and push himself into the lead.
He continued to dominate the court by earning a break of serve at the first time of asking in the fourth set, which Tsonga was unable to recover from as he dropped another serve to relinquish the match.
