Johanna Konta will contest her third grand slam semi-final at the French Open on Thursday.

The 28-year-old's run in Paris represents a return to top form after a difficult period results-wise.

Here, Press Association Sport picks out the highs and lows of the last four years.

June 2015 – Konta, ranked 126, makes her Wimbledon debut as a wild card and loses in the first round to Maria Sharapova.

August 2015 – A 16-match unbeaten run takes in two second-tier titles and a run to the fourth round of the US Open as a qualifier. Her ranking soars to 58.

October 2015 – Two more good runs at WTA events in Wuhan and Linz see Konta finish the season ranked 47.

January 2016 – A big grand slam breakthrough as Konta marches all the way to the semi-finals of the Australian Open. She finishes the tournament ranked 28.

June 2016 – Konta breaks into the top 20 for the first time and reaches the semi-finals of her home-town tournament in Eastbourne.

July 2016 – A first WTA Tour title as Konta wins in Stanford, beating Venus Williams in the final. Her ranking climbs again to 14.

October 2016 – A run to the final of the big WTA tournament in Beijing sees her break into the top 10 for the first time. She narrowly misses out on qualifying for the WTA Finals and finishes the year ranked 10.

January 2017 – Konta wins her second WTA title in Sydney and then makes the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

March 2017 – The biggest title of Konta's career to date as she wins the Premier Mandatory Miami Open.

July 2017 – Entering Wimbledon ranked seventh, Konta becomes the first British woman to make the semi-finals since Virginia Wade. Her ranking climbs to four.

August 2017 – Konta goes into the US Open as one of the title favourites but loses in the first round. She loses her last five matches of the season.

January 2018 – Konta halts her losing run at her first tournament of the year in Brisbane but is surprisingly beaten in the second round of the Australian Open by Bernarda Pera and drops out of the top 10.

March 2018 – Defeat in the fourth round in Miami, where she is defending the title, puts her out of the top 20 for the first time in two years.

July 2018 – A second-round loss to Dominika Cibulkova at Wimbledon sees her ranking plummet to 50.

October 2018 – After linking up with French coach Dimitri Zavialoff, she has one of her best weeks of the year in Moscow, making the semi-finals. She finishes the year ranked 37.

January 2019 – Shows her form is improving with a terrific display, albeit in defeat, in the second round of the Australian Open against Garbine Muguruza.

April 2019 – Konta helps Great Britain reach the Fed Cup World Group for the first time in 26 years then makes her first clay-court final at the WTA tournament in Rabat.

May 2019 – Konta shows hitherto unseen prowess on clay to reach the final of the big WTA event in Rome. Her ranking climbs back to 26.
