Novak Djokovic has described his quarter-final triumph over Rafael Nadal at the French Open as a "very, very good win" in his career.

The Serbian became just the second man to beat the Spaniard at Roland Garros in 11 years as he saw off the defending champion in straight sets.

Waiting for the world number one in the last four will be Andy Murray.

"I have a lot of respect for Rafa," Djokovic told reporters. "He's a champion. It's always a pleasure to play him. Playing aggressive and staying focused is easier said than done but I managed to do it. I hope it continues.

"It's a very, very good win. I'll try to enjoy a little bit tonight but tomorrow is another day. I new that the only tactic was to get on the court, play aggressive. I needed to stay concentrated all the way because he came back."

Despite reaching the final on two occasions, the French Open remains the only Grand Slam that Djokovic has failed to win.
