Mikhail Youzhny has explained why he wrote 'sorry' in the clay during his defeat to David Ferrer in the third round of the French Open on Saturday.
The Russian spelt out the word after losing the first set 6-0 in just 14 minutes.
He then lost the next two sets 6-2 6-2 on what was a woeful day for the world number 30.
"There was a lot of people. That's why I write 'sorry'," he told reporters. "Because I can't show them a nice game. The way we played in the beginning, it was not really interesting for people."
Ferrer will now face Marcel Granollers-Pujol for a place in the quarter-finals.
