Richard Gasquet has secured his place in round three of the French Open thanks to a straight-sets win over Bjorn Fratangelo in Paris.
The world number 12 came through a tough second set unscathed to ensure that he remains on track for success on home soil, with a 6-1 7-6(3) 6-3 triumph.
Gasquet held serve throughout the first and third sets, but the second proved far less comfortable as he was pushed all the way in an hour-long set.
Fratangelo had to dig deep to remain in the contest, although despite more than holding his own his French opponent used his experience to get over the line and pave the way for a place in the next round.
Nick Kyrgios, who overcame Igor Sijsling in straight sets, now awaits Gasquet later this week.
