Britain's Kyle Edmund has advanced to the second round of the French Open by beating Stephane Robert this evening.
The 20-year-old came through five sets to win 2-6 6-4 6-4 5-7 6-2 and dump his French opponent out of the tournament.
It was Edmund's debut victory at a Grand Slam and it means that he will now enter the Top 100 in the world rankings for the first time in his career.
"I'm just very pleased to win that," Edmund told ITV Sport. "I went out there and from the start in the fifth I got two breaks on his serve and really went in front and tried to finish as quickly as possible."
Edmund will now face Australian Nick Kyrgios in the next round.
