World number one Serena Williams secured her place in the second round of the French Open this afternoon thanks to a 6-2 6-1 victory over Alize Lim.
Defending champion Williams took control of the contest as early as the fourth game when she broke her Paris-born opponent to open up a 3-1 lead.
A second break then followed as Williams wrapped up the set in just 40 minutes, before a break in the second game of the second set allowed the American to take a 2-0 advantage.
She then went on to drop just one more game to secure the victory - a feat matched by her sister Venus earlier today.
The 32-year-old will now take on either compatriot Grace Min or Garbine Muguruza for the right to advance through to round three of the competition.
