Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has resisted a fightback from Tomas Berdych to reach the French Open quarter-finals.
Tsonga was dominant in the opening set, with a single break of serve helping him to take it 6-3 with little fuss.
The Frenchman continued to keep Berdych at arm's length in the second as he converted two out of five break points on his way to closing it out 6-2 in just 37 minutes.
World number four Berdych looked to be heading out of the tournament in straight sets when Tsonga broke to take a 5-4 lead in the third, but the Czech fought back instantly before forcing a tie-break, which he won 7-6[5].
Berdych went 3-1 up at the start of the fourth as he threatened to level the match, only for a resurgent Tsonga to win the next five games in a row to seal a thrilling 6-3 6-2 6-7[5] 6-3 triumph.
