Venus Williams has been knocked out in the first round of the French Open with a three-set defeat to Urszula Radwanska.
Both players managed to hold serve just once each during the opening set before Radwanska came through the tie-break 7-5.
It was a similar story in the second, but this time Williams came from 0-4 to take another tie-break 7-4 and level the match.
Despite battling hard against her Polish opponent, the American eventually went down 6-4 in the third to seal an early exit from the tournament at Roland Garros.
Radwanska will now meet Germany's Dinah Pfizenmaier in the second round.
