Serena Williams managed to come through a frustrating third-round clash at the French Open to beat Kristina Mladenovic in straight sets on Saturday.
The tie was on a knife-edge when rain stopped play with the pair 6-6 in the second set, with Williams having taken the first set.
After the match resumed, Williams managed to maintain her focus to win the tie-break and claim a 6-4 7-6(10) triumph on the clay court.
Prior to the weather interruption, the world number one broke to earn a third set point and a comfortable lead, but it was a difficult second set as she failed to find a way through.
Mladenovic saved seven break points before forcing the set into a tie-break, which ended in a 12-10 triumph for Williams.
