Indian seventh seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna have been knocked out in the second round of the men's Olympic doubles by French duo Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet.
The European pairing claimed a 6-3 6-4 triumph on Wimbledon's Court 15 in one hour and 16 minutes.
They now face a quarter-final clash with Croatian third seeds Janko Tipsarevic and Nenad Zimonjic or the Canadian pairing of Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil.
The win ended a disappointing day on a positive note for Gasquet after he was beaten by Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus in the singles competition.
