Sixth seed Eugenie Bouchard advanced to the last 16 of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells with a straight-sets win over Coco Vandeweghe this afternoon.
Bouchard was dominant throughout over America's Vandeweghe, but had to wait until the eighth game to make her first break before serving out the opener 6-3 in the next game.
The 21-year-old only afforded world number 36 Vandeweghe one break point all match and that was in the final game. Bouchard saved it and four points later she sealed victory on her second match point.
The Canadian will face the winner of the match currently taking place between 20th seed Alize Cornet and Ukraine's Lesia Tsurenko.
