Novak Djokovic was forced to overturn a one-set deficit in order to progress through to the third round of the Indian Wells Masters with victory over Bjorn Fratangelo.
Djokovic had been expected to ease past the American qualifier, but Fratangelo stunned the world number one by breaking serve twice to move closer to a shock win.
However, the Serbian soon restored parity to take the contest into a decider, but Fratangelo was not finished, and created four break-point opportunities in the third set.
Djokovic brought up seven openings, though, and struck three times to run out a 2-6 6-2 6-1 winner to set up a clash with Philipp Kohlschreiber.
On Monday, British representatives Andy Murray and Johanna Konta are in action as they bid to make the last 16.
