Roger Federer has progressed into round three of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells courtesy of a comfortable victory over Diego Schwartzman.
The Swiss star started well on his own serve with seven aces and managed to break his Argentine opponent midway through the opening set, which he won 6-4.
Federer beat Schwartzman in straight sets at last year's French Open and the former world number one was in no mood to offer the youngster the chance of revenge.
He closed out the match with two breaks of serve before winning the second set 6-2 to progress to round three.
The 16-time Grand Slam winner will now meet Andreas Seppi, who beat qualifier Victor Hanescu.
