John Isner has eased into the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open thanks to a 6-4 6-3 victory over Lu Yen-Hsun.
The American was predictably dominant with his serve and his power caused plenty of problems for Lu, who struggled to make a similar impact during his own service games.
Isner only needed to convert one of his break points to wrap up the first set in just over 30 minutes.
Despite failing to produce the same kind of quality in the second set, Isner still proved to be too strong for his Taiwanese opponent as he progressed through the match without needing to save a break point.
The 12th seed broke Lu once again to take control in the second set and he comfortably held his serve to secure the win.
