Milos Raonic has booked an Indian Wells Masters quarter-final with Andy Murray after easing past Alejandro Falla in straight sets in California.
The big-serving Canadian was comfortable while holding serve in the opening set, but had to work hard for the decisive break against the left-hander.
He had previously only had one break point when he picked up a game on the Falla serve to win the first set 6-4.
World number 74 Falla had even fewer opportunities throughout the contest and, after missing two break points in the fifth game of the second, was never given another look-in by an in-form Raonic.
The 23-year-old secured a 6-4 6-3 victory by winning consecutive games at the back end of the set, and will now face Murray, who earlier came from behind to beat Jiri Vesely, in the last eight.
