Ninth seed Andrea Petkovic has been knocked out in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, in three sets by Lesia Tsurenko.
Tsurenko made a fast start and broke Petkovic twice on her way to winning the first set 6-3.
The 25-year-old gained an early break in the second as well, but Petkovic fought back and broke the Ukrainian three times as she levelled the match at one set all.
In a nervy final set, Petkovic broke her opponent three times, but struggled on her own serve.
Tsurenko broke her four times and held her nerve to win the match 6-3 4-6 6-4.
