Roberto Bautista Agut booked his place in the second round of the Italian Open with a 6-1 6-3 victory over fellow Spaniard Marcel Granollers this afternoon.
Fourteenth seed Bautista Agut had to save three break points in the opening game of the match, but he was soon into his stride as he reeled off five games in a row on his way to a 6-1 first-set success.
The second was also fairly comfortable for the world number 19 as he broke Granollers twice more to wrap up victory 6-3 in the duo's first meeting in three years.
Brazilian qualifier Thomaz Bellucci awaits Bautista Agut in the next round.
