Stanislas Wawrinka has marched into the third round of the Italian Open with a comfortable straight-sets win over Spanish qualifier Pere Riba.
The Swiss, who is seeded third, was utterly dominant during the opening set as three breaks of serve saw him close it out 6-0 after 20 minutes.
Riba offered more resistance in the second, but Wawrinka was able to secure an all-important break before sealing the victory 6-0 6-3.
The Australian Open champion will now meet the winner of Tommy Haas's match against either Igor Sijsling or Marco Cecchinato.
