Gael Monfils has admitted that he finds it difficult to play against Tomas Berdych after losing in straight sets to the Czech in the semi-finals at the Monte Carlo Masters this afternoon.
The Frenchman, who beat Roger Federer on his way to a place in the last four, was beaten 6-1 6-4 earlier, slipping to a sixth defeat in his last seven matches against Berdych.
The world number 18 told reporters: "It's always difficult when I'm up against Tomas, I can't find the proper way to play him.
"Hopefully I'll find the solution one day. But even when I served well, he was returning hard and deep. He reads my serve very well."
Berdych will face either Novak Djokovic or Rafael Nadal in tomorrow's final.
