Gael Monfils has grabbed a place in the semi-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters courtesy of a 6-1 6-3 victory over Grigor Dimitrov.
The Frenchman, who knocked out Roger Federer in the third round, looked comfortable on the clay surface as he broke his opponent at the first time of asking.
Dimitrov, who ousted Stanislas Wawrinka in the previous round, struggled to overcome Monfils's serve as he failed to create a break-point opportunity throughout the entire first set.
In addition to that, the Bulgarian lost serve twice more to relinquish the first set and leave the momentum fully in Monfils's direction.
In the second set, Monfils continued his dominance by grabbing a crucial break point at the third time of asking in the third game, leaving Dimitrov on the back foot.
Despite Dimitrov looking more comfortable on his serve as the set went on, the damage had already been done and Monfils was able to successfully serve for the match.
Monfils will face Tomas Berdych in the final four.
