British number one Emma Raducanu has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup Finals with a wrist injury.
The 19-year-old - who is now ranked 76th in the world - has not taken to the court since being beaten in the first round of the Ostrava Open by Daria Kasatkina earlier this month.
Raducanu has been bedevilled by numerous fitness issues over the past 12 months, and she withdrew from the Transylvania Open with her wrist injury a few weeks ago.
Raducanu took time out to focus on her recovery ahead of representing Great Britain at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, but her issue has not healed up in time, and she will not be competing in Glasgow.
"It's disappointing to get the news from the doctors that I won't be ready in time, particularly with it being on home soil," Raducanu told the LTA.
"I tried to do everything possible to get it ready in time, since my last tournament I have been working every day on physical training and rehab. I've got confidence in my teammates and look forward to playing next year."
Harriet Dart, Heather Watson and Katie Boulter make up the rest of captain Anne Keothavong's GB squad, and the LTA have announced that the final members of the team will be confirmed in due course.
The 2022 Billie Jean King Cup Finals take place from November 8 to 13, and Great Britain will take on Spain and Kazakhstan in Group C as they aim to win the tournament for the first time. body check tags ::
