Roger Federer has expressed his delight at beating Andreas Seppi to win the Gerry Weber Open for a record eighth time.
The world number two saved a couple of set points when trailing 5-4 in the opener, before digging deep to edge out his Italian opponent in the tie-break and grabbing an early foothold on the contest.
After himself squandering three break points in the second set, Federer was able to see out a 7-6(1) 6-4 victory in Halle to claim his fourth title of the year.
"It is a special moment for me to win this tournament an eighth time," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "2013 was difficult, 2014 was better and now 2015 after this week is even better and I hope I can keep it up".
Federer will now turn his attention to Wimbledon - a competition that he has won seven times during his illurstrius career - which gets underway on June 29.
