After a statement win in the Champions League on Tuesday, Bayern Munich will hope to capitalise on their goalscoring form and beat hosts Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga at Weserstadion on Saturday.
The home side are eighth in the table with five points from their first three league games of the season, while Bayern are first with nine points after three matchweeks.
Match preview
The hosts did well to earn a victory in their last league match against Mainz 05 on September 15 considering they had been reduced to 10 men in the 60th minute when the scoreline was 1-1, but a 69th minute winner from Derrick Kohn ensured they left with all three points.
In their second game of the Bundesliga season on August 31, Werder Bremen drew 0-0 with Nuri Sahin's Borussia Dortmund, though they failed to make the most of the fact BVB defender Nico Schlotterbeck was sent off in the 74th minute.
To their credit, Die Werderaner's unbeaten start to their league campaign is a notable improvement on their showing in 2023-24, a season in which they lost their first two games before winning their third.
Boss Ole Werner will be pleased that his side have conceded the least xG of any of the 18 teams in the Bundesliga, though disappointed that they have produced the joint second-fewest big chances.
Werder Bremen have avoided defeat in their last nine competitive matches, drawing four times and winning on five occasions.
Opponents Bayern Munich come into the clash having won 9-2 against Dinamo Zagreb on August 17 in their first Champions League game of the season, with Harry Kane scoring four times and overtaking Wayne Rooney to become the highest-scoring English player in the competition's history.
The Bavarians beat Holstein Kiel 6-1 on September 14 in their most recent Bundesliga game, and these impressive results are perhaps a timely boost for manager Vincent Kompany.
It is no secret that Kompany was not Bayern's first choice for the position of manager, but the Belgian was defiant in the aftermath of his team's win, insisting that he is unbothered by his critics.
While Kompany's side have been impressive in their last two games, it should be noted that they have only kept three clean sheets in their last 12 competitive fixtures.
Bayern have won all five of their games this season, scoring 24 goals and conceding five times.
The visitors have won their last three away matches but lost seven, drew two and won just two of their prior 11 games on the road.

Team News
Werder Bremen will be without Marco Friedl, who was sent off last time out against Mainz 05, while Naby Keita is still absent from the squad.
The hosts will also be unable to call upon Justin Njinmah, Milos Veljkovic, Oliver Burke and Olivier Deman.
Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer faces a late fitness test, while Daniel Peretz is a doubt for Saturday's match.
However, Arijon Ibrahimovic, Hiroki Ito, Josip Stanisic, Sacha Boey and Tarek Buchmann are all injured and will miss out.
Werder Bremen possible starting lineup:
Zetterer; Malatini, Stark, Jung; Weiser, Lynen, Stage, Agu; Schmid, Grull; Ducksch
Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Neuer; Laimer, Kim, Upamecano, Guerreiro; Kimmich, Palhinha; Coman, Musiala, Gnabry; Kane
We say: Werder Bremen 0-3 Bayern Munich
Though Werder Bremen have proven capable defensively this season, it is difficult to see them keeping a clean sheet given the rampant form of the visitors in front of goal.
Fresh from their win in the Champions League, Bayern will be full of confidence and should be strong favourites.
