David Goffin has admitted that he "felt tired" during his straight-sets defeat at the hands of Andy Murray earlier today.
World number three Murray dropped just one game as he won through in under an hour to book his place in the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters in the French capital.
Asked why it had been such a convincing victory for the Scot, 24-year-old Goffin conceded that he was too fatigued to put up a serious challenge.
"It was difficult for me to do something today. I felt tired. My body was on the court, but there was nobody on the inside," he told reporters.
Murray and Goffin are due to meet again later this month when Belgium play host to Great Britain in the final of the Davis Cup.
