Marin Cilic has won on his return from a four-month doping ban with a three-set victory over Igor Sijsling in the first round of the Paris Masters.
The Croatian, who has slipped down to world number 41 since being out of action, was recently given permission to play again after seeing his nine-month suspension reduced.
Sijsling landed the first blow by taking the opening set 7-5, but Cilic fought back to breeze through the second 6-1.
He then earned a decisive break to go 4-3 up in the third before closing out the contest 6-4.
Waiting for Cilic in the next round is fourth seed Juan Martin del Potro, who is fresh off the back of beating Roger Federer in the Swiss Indoors final.
