Philipp Kohlschreiber has beaten Andreas Seppi in three sets to make it through to the second round of the Paris Masters.
The German world number 23 claimed the opening set 6-3 before Italian world number 25 Seppi took the second by the same scoreline.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the decider, but it was Kohlschreiber who broke again to seal the win 6-4 with two hours on the clock.
He will now face fellow countryman Tommy Haas in the next round.
