Feliciano Lopez has advanced to the third round of the Paris Masters with a straight-sets win over Sam Querrey.
The American qualifier beat Jerzy Janowicz in the first round, but could not produce another shock as Lopez overcame an early deficit to win 6-4 6-4 in France.
Querrey broke at the first attempt to move into a 2-0 lead before losing his next two service games to hand the momentum to Lopez, who never looked back as he closed out the first set in 32 minutes.
The Spaniard wasted two break points in the opening game of the second, but would not let Querrey escape again when he had him on the ropes in game three as he clinched a break at the fourth time of asking.
The world number 14 did not give Querrey the chance to reply as he recorded a comfortable victory.
