Milos Raonic has avoided a surprise defeat in the second round of the Paris Masters thanks to a three-set win over American Jack Sock.
A cagey opening set went the way of seventh seed Raonic, who broke his opponent late on before closing it out 6-4.
It was a similar story in the second as both men gave little away on serve, but this time it was Sock who found a break to take it 7-5.
A resurgent Sock wasted three break points in the decider and he was made to pay as Roanic came through 6-4 5-7 7-6(4) with just over two hours on the clock.
