Number 13 seed Andy Roddick achieved a straight-sets victory over Julien Benneteau at the Paris Open this afternoon.
After an even start to the opening set, American Roddick broke his French opponent to record a 6-4 success.
Benneteau responded at the beginning of the next set by breaking Roddick's serve, but the 29-year-old levelled up the scores in the sixth game to make it 3-3.
With the set 5-4 in Roddick's favour, he then decisively broke Benneteau's serve again to secure his passage to round three 6-4 6-4.
Roddick will face Andy Murray in the next round, should the Brit overcome the challenge of Jeremy Chardy tomorrow.
