Stanislas Wawrinka has booked a place in the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters by securing a 6-3 6-2 victory over Nicolas Almagro.
The Swiss pro was put on the back foot in the early stages by losing a break of serve and going 3-1 down to Almagro in the opening set.
However, Wawrinka was able to break back and push on to take a one-set lead on centre court following some damaging forehands.
Games were won by the way of serve at the start of the second set, but Almagro failed to overcome his one-set deficit to force through a third set.
Seventh seed Wawrinka was able to see off his opponent comfortably in order to reach the final eight.
