Paul-Henri Mathieu has set up a second-round clash with Andy Murray at the Aegon Championships following his straight-sets win over Aljaz Bedene.
The French world number 92 saw off the Slovakian 7-6(2) 6-4 at Queen's Club on Monday afternoon.
Murray, who has been given a bye in the opening round, won the tournament last year before going on to secure glory at Wimbledon.
The Brit recently announced that two-time Grand Slam champion Amelie Mauresmo will be his new coach for the grass-court season.
