An all-Spanish Barcelona Open semi-final will be held this weekend after Pablo Andujar secured a 6-1 6-3 win over Fabio Fognini to set up a clash against David Ferrer.
Andujar broke serve early in the first set and pushed on to claim a further two breaks to claim the set, leaving Fognini with just one game on the board.
The Italian, who knocked out 'king of clay' Rafael Nadal in the third round, tried to bounce back from his lacklustre first set by breaking back immediately after losing serve in the second set.
Despite Fognini's attempts, Andujar was too strong on the day and he was able to wrap up the contest with another break, which put the Spaniard into the final four.
