World number one Victoria Azarenka moved into round three of the Madrid Open at the expense of Andrea Hlavackova this afternoon.
Azarenka made light work of the opening set in the Spanish capital, claiming two breaks of Hlavackova's serve to wrap up a 6-3 success on the controversial blue clay.
The next set appeared to be heading for a similar outcome when Azarenka once again broke her opponent from the Czech Republic early.
However, Hlavackova showed greater resistance to break back as Azarenka was preparing to serve for the match.
The set headed into a tie-break, which Azarenka eventually won 7-2 to win the match 6-3 7-6.
She will now face either Ana Ivanovic or Nadia Petrova in the next round.
