Kyle Edmund has reached the quarter-finals of the Burnie Challenger with a three-set victory over Maverick Banes.
The 20-year-old, who won his first challenger event in Hong Kong last week, is looking to continue his rise up the ATP rankings, and he appeared on course for a routine win after taking the opening set 6-1.
However, in a second set that saw four breaks of serve, Australian Banes dominated a tie-break to take the contest into a decider.
The British number three was pegged back after initially going a break ahead, but he struck again in the closing stages to record a 6-1 6-7 7-5 triumph.
Edmund will now play eighth seed Chung Hyeon for a place in the last four.
