David Ferrer came from a set down to beat Dustin Brown 5-7 6-3 6-2 in the first round of the Qatar Open.
The German qualifier took the first set from the top seed in a closely-fought opening spell.
The match was suspended three games into the second set after a hole developed in the playing surface behind one of the base lines, taking the players off court for around 50 minutes while repairs were undertaken.
