Angelique Kerber has secured a place in the semi-finals of the Toray Pan Pacific Open following a 6-3 6-0 win over Dominika Cibulkova.
Both players lost their opening service games in the first set, but Kerber was able to bounce back with a break to take the edge in the early stages of the contest.
Cibulkova managed to grab another break point of her own, but Kerber responded once again with a double break to take a one-set lead in Tokyo.
The second set was more comfortable for Kerber as she battled to break her opponent three times, leaving Cibulkova without a single game on the board.
