Johanna Konta has reached the semi-finals of the Aegon International in Eastbourne with a straight-sets win over Ekaterina Makarova.
The British number one backed up Wednesday's triumph over Petra Kvitova with another excellent win as she prevailed 7-6 6-4 against the former world number eight.
Konta quickly fell 2-0 behind to the Russian and found herself a game away from dropping the opening set, but she rallied to secure a tie-break which she took 7-5.
The pair traded breaks at the start of the second before Konta struck towards the end of the set to reach the last four of her hometown tournament for the first time.
Konta will now face Karolina Pliskova - a player she has never defeated in four previous meetings - for a place in the final.
