Petra Kvitova has booked her place in the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open thanks to a straight-sets triumph over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
The world number four was dominant in the opening set as two breaks of serve saw her take it 6-1 with just 24 minutes on the clock.
Pavlyuchenkova offered more resistance in the second, cancelling out an early break to level at 4-4. However, Kvitova broke back instantly before serving out the contest 6-1 6-4.
The 2011 champion will now face either Irina Camelia Begu or Barbora Strycova for a spot in the semi-finals.
