World number nine Li Na has overcome the challenge of South Africa's Chanelle Scheepers to make it through to the quarter-finals of the Rome Masters.
Li delivered the first blow of the opening set when she took an early break of serve from the world number 50. However, Scheepers was able to break back soon after and force the tie-break.
As both players struggled to hold serve, it was Li who succeeded with a 7-3 triumph.
It was a different story in the second as the Chinese player broke her opponent three times to see out the match 6-2.
