Top-seed Rafael Nadal booked his place in the last 16 of the Barcelona Open with a straight-sets win over fellow Spaniard Marcel Granollers-Pujol this afternoon.
The eight-time champion got off to a slow start as Granollers-Pujol broke in the first game of the contest, but Nadal responded straight away with a run of four games in a row.
He then wrapped up the first set 6-3 and cruised to victory with a double-break in the second set, claiming it 6-2 to wrap up victory in an hour and a half.
Nadal will face another compatriot in the last 16 in Albert Montanes.
