Rafael Nadal has won his first singles match following a recent return from a serious knee injury.
The Spaniard, who had been out of action for seven months, beat Argentine world number 128 Federico Delbonis 6-3 6-2 in the first round of the VTR Open in Chile.
Nadal played his first competitive contest on Tuesday in a doubles triumph with fellow countryman Juan Monaco.
The world number five's last singles outing was a five-set defeat to world number 100 Lukas Rosol in the second round of Wimbledon back in June.
