Karolina Pliskova has knocked Ana Ivanovic out of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships by securing a 6-2 4-6 6-4 victory in the third round.
It was a poor start for the fourth seed as she lost her serve twice in quick succession and failed to convert three break points, leaving her 4-0 down in the first set.
Pliskova took control and was able to respond immediately to going a break down by breaking back and serving out for the set.
Ivanovic lost her opening serve once again, but was able to bounce back with a break of her own to draw the second set 3-3, before snatching Pliskova's serve to level the contest.
The deciding set was a tight affair as games went by way of serve until Pliskova found the first break point in the seventh game.
Despite Ivanovic breaking back, Pliskova managed to win a lengthy battle to break again and clinch her place in the quarter-finals.
