American number two Sam Querrey has booked his place in the second round of the Mexican Open by beating local wildcard Tigre Hank.
Querrey failed to convert any of his three break points during the opening set, which eventually went to a tie-break.
World number 646 Hank won the breaker 7-5, but Querrey went on to record three breaks of serve to turn the match around and come through 6-7 6-4 6-3 in 116 minutes.
Querrey produced just four aces during the match - seven fewer than his opponent.
The 26-year-old will face either Kevin Anderson or Stephane Robert in round two.
