Albert Ramos has sealed a place in the second round of the Sydney International by beating Sam Querrey 4-6 6-3 6-4.
Querrey began the match on the frontfoot by grabbing a vital break of serve and taking a one-set lead on the court, but his Spanish opponent launched a comeback in the second set.
Ramos was able to overpower Querrey's service games and maintain composure on his own, which resulted in him drawing level on sets and forcing the match into a decider.
It was a close contest at the start of the third set, but Ramos was able to take control of the court with a break, which Querrey failed to bounce back from.
